Aleksandra Szczepanowska is an award-winning multi-hyphenate artist based in New York City. As an actress, writer and director, she is the owner of Jungle Cat Productions LLC and has created numerous films that have been screened and distributed all over the world. Her first narrative feature, Touch, which she wrote, directed, produced and starred in, won Best Feature and Best Director at the NYC Independent Film Festival and Best Feature at LA Femme Film Festival (both 2020), among other awards after screening at over a dozen film festivals, and being picked up by Indie Rights and HBO Europe for distribution.
 
After earning a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Columbia College and a Master of Arts in International Affairs specializing in Energy Management and Marine Transportation from Columbia University, Aleksandra launched her career in the fields of environment and energy in Africa, China, Europe and the US. She speaks Mandarin Chinese, Polish, French and English, and her global experience has informed and honed her work as a storyteller and communicator.
 
Earlier projects that Aleksandra co-wrote, directed and produced include short films Let It Ring, which premiered at the Montreal World Film Festival in 2013, and Naked Soles, which won Best Short Film on Polish FilmWeb in 2012. She is affiliated with Film Fatales, Women in Film, NY Women in Film and TV, and the Sundance Co//ab.
