Genesis Sofia Ibarra is a Salvadorenia who grew up in Las Vegas and moved to New York for higher education. She graduated from Hofstra University with a BA in Journalism and a double minor in Fine Arts and Philosophy. Genesis began her career in communications as a Writer/Photojournalist at the Long Island Herald Newspapers. She then transitioned into non-profit/public relations work with DoSomething.Org, BerlinRosen, ViaCare LA, The Black Institute, Cares of NY, and the Congressional Hispanic Leadership Institute.
Ms. Ibarra now seeks to promote messages and amplify the audience of a sustainability nonprofit by using her writing, PR, marketing, and graphic design skills. She is a Communications Fellow with the Congressional Hispanic Leadership Institute and is fluent in Spanish, English, and French.
In her spare time, Ms. Ibarra is a painter and owns a small business creating commissioned artwork. Out of all her awards/honors, the most compelling one is the 4th-grade “Trustworthiness” award which made her want to grow into an adult with integrity and compassion for humanity.
