Lizelle Klopper Builds a Career Around Learning, Belonging and Encouragement
After arriving in the United States without a degree, Lizelle Klopper pursued psychology, human resource management and professional certification. She is now bringing her commitment to human connection into the next phase of her career.
When Lizelle Klopper arrived in the United States in 2018, she did not have a degree. She did, however, have the steady encouragement of a husband who believed in her before she fully believed in herself. That support helped her begin an educational journey that would lead from psychology to human resource management—and now toward the intersection of people, systems and information security.
Her progress has been deliberate. Lizelle earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology in 2022, completed an MBA in Human Resource Management in 2023 and obtained the SHRM-CP certification in 2024. Each step has expanded the knowledge she can bring to her work as a human resource professional while reinforcing a personal commitment to continued learning.
Encouragement as a Starting Point
The idea of becoming better than she was the day before has shaped Lizelle’s approach to growth. Her husband’s encouragement gave her the confidence and opportunity to study what she felt called to pursue. It remains a source of daily motivation rather than simply part of the story of how she began.
That experience also informs what she hopes to offer others. Lizelle wants the encouragement she received to ripple outward, particularly to the women and workplaces she encounters. Her path illustrates how support can create room for someone to recognize their abilities, take on demanding goals and continue moving forward even when the destination is still developing.
For Lizelle, ambition does not need to come at the expense of honesty or care. She sees honesty, a nurturing outlook, skill and ambition as a necessary combination for success. Critical thinking, delegation and decision-making are among the abilities she brings to her professional development. Her experience working with teams whose members have varied backgrounds has also contributed to her perspective on individual and organizational diversity.
Putting Human Connection at the Center
Although credentials mark important milestones in Lizelle’s journey, human connection remains at the heart of her work. She is interested in how people discover purpose and belonging, and she believes individuals and organizations become stronger when people feel seen and valued.
That principle has practical significance in human resources. Workplaces bring together people with different experiences, responsibilities and ways of contributing. Creating a sense of belonging requires attention to those differences as well as the ability to make thoughtful decisions. Lizelle’s studies in psychology and human resource management provide complementary perspectives for that work: one centered on people and the other on the organizational environments in which they operate.
Her emphasis on current knowledge is equally important. Lizelle continues to add credentials so she can serve people and workplaces with both care and up-to-date skills. Rather than treating education as a completed chapter, she approaches it as an ongoing part of professional responsibility.
Preparing for a More Technical Future
The next stage of Lizelle’s development reaches beyond traditional human resource preparation. She is working toward further certifications, including CompTIA Security+, as she expands her understanding of security-related topics. Over the next five years, she plans to pursue the CISA credential with the goal of becoming a Certified Information Systems Auditor.
This direction introduces a technical dimension to a career grounded in people and organizations. It also reflects the same pattern that has carried Lizelle from her first degree through graduate study and professional certification: identify an area for growth, commit to learning and build capability one step at a time.
Her goals are still in progress, and that is central to the story. Lizelle’s journey is not framed by having reached a final destination. It is defined by the willingness to keep preparing for what comes next while holding onto the values that prompted her to begin.
Creating a Wider Circle of Belief
Behind Lizelle’s degrees, certifications and future plans is a consistent belief in the power of encouragement. The confidence another person placed in her helped open a path that once may not have seemed certain. She now hopes to extend that same sense of possibility to others.
For women considering a new field, returning to education or building confidence in unfamiliar circumstances, her experience offers a grounded message: development can happen through a series of purposeful choices. For workplaces, her focus is similarly clear. When people are treated as individuals worthy of attention, care and opportunity, growth can extend beyond one person to the organization around them.
As Lizelle continues building expertise in human resources and security, she is carrying forward the motivation that started her journey. Learning equips her for new responsibilities; human connection gives that learning its purpose.
