Keely Mallory Connects Energy Solutions With Community Needs

Business Development Sales Manager Keely Mallory brings utility program experience and a relationship-centered approach to expanding energy efficiency participation and developing new opportunities.

Portrait of energy efficiency and business development professional Keely Mallory

Energy efficiency programs create value only when customers can understand, access, and put them to work. Keely Mallory has built her career around that essential connection. With more than a decade of experience in utility-sponsored programs, strategic market outreach, stakeholder engagement, and relationship management, she has helped bring utilities together with the businesses, public institutions, and communities their programs are designed to serve.

Now Business Development Sales Manager at Resource Innovations, Keely applies experience from program implementation and market development to the pursuit of new opportunities. Her work centers on understanding utility needs, strengthening partnerships, and connecting clients with solutions across energy efficiency, demand-side management, demand response, and distributed energy resources.

Turning Programs Into Participation

Keely began her energy efficiency career with CLEAResult, advancing through account management, market outreach, and leadership responsibilities. Most recently, she served there as Senior Market Outreach Manager, overseeing outreach strategies and customer engagement initiatives across Oklahoma and Arkansas.

That work supported commercial and industrial energy efficiency programs involving HVAC optimization, building improvements, strategic energy management, and customized energy-saving solutions. The range of offerings required more than broad promotion. Different customers faced different operational priorities, budget considerations, and participation barriers, making attentive communication and informed relationship management central to the work.

During her tenure, Keely managed outreach activities supporting utility program portfolios representing more than 172 million kilowatt-hours in energy savings, 578,000 therms, and $17.6 million in utility incentives. She also achieved 110% of annual performance targets. These results reflect the scale of the portfolios and the practical importance of outreach in helping eligible organizations move from initial awareness toward meaningful program participation.

Building Partnerships Across Sectors

A consistent focus throughout Keely’s career has been expanding participation through strategic partnerships. She has worked with school districts, municipalities, chambers of commerce, manufacturers, multifamily housing organizations, commercial businesses, contractors, and trade allies. Each group occupies a distinct place in the energy efficiency ecosystem, and each can influence whether useful resources reach the customers who may benefit from them.

Her responsibilities have included identifying opportunities, addressing participation barriers, leading market development initiatives, coordinating industry events, and delivering presentations. She has also collaborated with cross-functional teams to advance program objectives. Together, these activities illustrate a form of business development grounded in coordination: aligning technical offerings, utility priorities, market relationships, and customer needs.

For communities and organizations, that alignment can make complex programs easier to navigate. For utilities, it can support stronger engagement with commercial and institutional customers. Keely’s experience on the implementation side gives her a practical perspective on how program design is communicated in the market and how relationships contribute to results.

Listening as a Business Development Strategy

At Resource Innovations, Keely’s role extends that foundation into business development. She focuses on identifying opportunities, understanding evolving utility priorities, and supporting company growth. The transition draws directly on her familiarity with utility programs and the stakeholders involved in delivering them.

Her approach begins with listening. Rather than treating relationship building as a final step in the sales process, she views understanding client priorities and establishing trust as the basis for productive collaboration. That perspective is particularly relevant in an energy landscape where utilities and communities are considering a wider mix of strategies, technologies, and customer needs.

Keely earned an undergraduate degree in business administration from Southern Nazarene University in 2008. Her career since then has brought together business knowledge, hands-on program experience, market outreach, and partnership development.

Connecting Strategy With Practical Value

The through line in Keely’s work is connection: linking program resources with customer needs, bringing stakeholders into productive conversations, and translating industry priorities into opportunities for collaboration. Her experience shows how relationship management can support both measurable program outcomes and longer-term utility partnerships.

As she continues her work at Resource Innovations, Keely brings an implementation-informed perspective to business development. It is a perspective shaped by the realities of customer engagement and by a sustained focus on creating value for utility clients and the communities they serve.
