Meghan Clements Zaklin, MSN, FNP-BC, is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner, Co-Owner and Chief Quality and Safety Officer of ECS Wellness, with more than a decade of experience in internal medicine, integrative medicine, geriatrics and orthopedic care. Based in Swampscott, Massachusetts, she joins the Worldwide Women’s Association as a clinician, practice owner and educator focused on cannabinoid medicine, the endocannabinoid system (ECS) and whole-person care.
Meghan has practiced at ECS Wellness since 2020 and served as its Chief Executive Officer from 2024 to 2025. The Mass General Brigham-affiliated integrative cannabinoid and lifestyle medicine practice cares for patients who live in Massachusetts and Maine, as well as patients from across the Northeast who are in either state at the time of their visit. In her current quality and safety role, she sets clinical standards for how cannabinoid care is assessed, dosed, monitored and documented, bringing together cannabinoid pharmacology, patient education and care standardization.
Her clinical approach combines cannabinoid medicine with integrative, lifestyle and mind-body medicine. Meghan works with people adding cannabis to a wellness routine, patients navigating cancer who need support with nausea, appetite, pain, sleep and anxiety, and individuals with complex chronic conditions affecting multiple body systems. This work places each patient’s goals alongside considerations such as physical movement, restorative sleep, food as medicine, stress management and social connection.
Meghan began her nursing career at New England Rehabilitation and Wingate Healthcare, where she worked as a Registered Nurse from 2011 to 2013. She then served as a Family Nurse Practitioner with North Shore Physicians Group from 2013 to 2021, including an inpatient nurse practitioner role in the Department of Orthopedics. From 2018 to 2020, she was also Program Manager for Extended Care, expanding her experience in program leadership across inpatient and outpatient settings.
Education is central to Meghan’s professional focus. She emphasizes that understanding the endocannabinoid system can help clinicians connect symptoms that are often addressed in separate clinical silos. Because many clinicians did not formally study the ECS, closing that knowledge gap informs her work with healthcare professionals, organizations, patients and communities.
Meghan’s speaking experience includes the Massachusetts Coalition of Nurse Practitioners Annual Conference, Harvard Medical School’s Neurogastroenterology and Motility course, hospice and palliative care conferences, and Grand Rounds within Mass General Brigham. She has also presented at Elevate Her, the International Women’s Cannabis Conference and Healthcare Visibility Mastermind. Her online patient education includes an adolescent and young adult webinar, and she was a featured guest on the series Let’s Talk About Cannabis in Healthcare.
Meghan earned a B.S. in Biochemistry from Merrimack College in 2009 and an M.S. in Nursing from Simmons University in 2013. Her credentials include Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Registered Nurse, while her honors include Sigma Theta Tau, the Honor Society of Nursing, and Sigma Xi, The Scientific Honor Society.
Her professional memberships include the Massachusetts Coalition of Nurse Practitioners, American Cannabis Nurses Association, Society of Cannabis Clinicians, Association of Cannabinoid Specialists and American College of Lifestyle Medicine. Available for keynotes, clinician training and panels, Meghan is interested in connecting with event organizers, health systems, nursing programs, professional associations, clinicians, researchers and women leading healthcare and wellness businesses. WWA members are invited to connect with Meghan to exchange professional insights and explore opportunities in cannabinoid medicine, healthcare leadership and education.
