Adetutu Afonja, CPA, CGA, FCCA, is an accomplished accounting and finance professional with experience spanning healthcare, public accounting, and e-commerce. Her expertise encompasses financial reporting, full-cycle accounting, financial analysis, month-end close, consolidations, variance analysis, cash-flow management, internal controls, audit support, account reconciliations, and process improvement.
Currently serving as a Senior Accountant at Canada Diagnostic Centres, Adetutu owns the month-end financial reporting process and plays an important role in delivering accurate, timely, and decision-useful financial information. Her responsibilities include preparing consolidated financial reports, cash-flow statements, and cash forecasts, as well as conducting variance analysis to support board reporting. She also prepares covenant reports for financial institutions and oversees the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger.
In addition to her technical accounting responsibilities, Adetutu provides guidance and review support to members of the accounting team. She reviews month-end workpapers prepared by bookkeepers and assists accounts payable and accounts receivable personnel with account reconciliations, general ledger coding, and other accounting matters.
