The Worldwide Women’s Association Recognizes Thais Magalhaes

Thais Magalhaes is the owner of Prowa. An experienced production engineer, she was initially hired as a junior professor at the Anglo Cursinhos physics team where she had studied, growing up. She is known for her skill in physics and mathematics, and was the first female faculty member in that department. In 2001, she became a trainee in the treasury trading desk of ABNAMRO Bank– Banco Real. Again, Thais was the only woman around, and found the female representatives from sales teams would come to her for pricing whenever they could, because she could help them without making things look complicated. In 2004 her hands laid down into Mohamad Yunus ‘Banker to the Poor’, and she discovered her deepest motivation in life: making the world and its opportunities accessible to all. She took a risk and decided to transition into to the Sustainability department of ABN AMRO in Brazil. In 2007, Alcoa (Aluminum Company of America) recruited her to transform and manifest their local development ideas and properly connect them with NGOs and social leaders throughout Amazonia. She is highly skilled in coordination, corporate responsibility, social change management, project management, multi-sector collaboration, and multi-area teams.

Worldwide Women’s Association Member, Thais Magalhaes, can be found on the Association Directory, where she is looking forward to networking with you.
