The Worldwide Women’s Association Recognizes Constance Agyeman
Constance Agyeman currently serves as Director of International Development at Nesta Challenges, where her skills and commitment have moved her upward over the past 10 years. Passionate about her work, she brings with her over 25 years of experience in the voluntary field and in her role provides a range of consultancy services in strategic application of challenges, capacity development and design and delivery of blended challenge innovation. She has developed and delivered over 25 challenges, since joining the Nesta team, including the Giving Challenges, Dynamic Demand, Inclusive Tech Prize, European Social Innovation, Longitude Explorer and Data Driven Farming Prize. She also works closely with brand and organizational partners, such as World Bank, USAID, Cabinet Office, Canadian Government, Humanitarian Leadership Academy and the Ghana Ministry of Education.
After earning a bachelor’s degree in Drama and Theatre Studies from Middlesex University, Constance went on to complete a Master of Arts from the University. Prior to joining Nesta as Development Manager, Nesta Challenges, she managed a £50 million corporate match fund programme, worked with the Greater London Authority Mayors Office, and has headed up various national youth volunteering and grant management programmes.
Currently based in London, United Kingdom, outside of her professional endeavors Constance serves on the board of Alma Mater Education, Architecture Sans Frontieres UK and Results for Development UK. She also runs a micro-business, creating apparel, jewelry and furnishings with fine African textiles. Constance intends to split her time more evenly between the UK and Ghana going forward.
2022 heralds in new opportunities as Constance develops an innovation and collaboration consultancy practice in Ghana, West Africa. Constance is keen to explore how power dynamics can be better equalised in partnerships to strengthen impact and has been developing ‘Principled Power Protocols’ – a series of practical modules. She is also keen to provide a window into more fulfilling ‘Life Choices’ for Ghanaians and will be working with Ghanaian practitioners to provide underserved communities a range of vocational and professional taster and immersion experiences to build capacity and untap potential.
