Veronica Bernal is the Chief Executive Officer of Avenka (www.avenkocosmetics.com), a one-year old business she started in 2017, in Mexico, where she lives. The company produces natural cosmetics, with no toxic ingredients, no artificial colors or perfumes. They also use natural oils including avocado, jojoba, and grape seed oil from Mexico, carrot seed oil from Germany, and collagen and elastic from France. She sells her products online, and they are also sold in two stores in Morelia, Michoacán, in addition to being distributed by women in three cities - Mexico City, Guadalajara, and Morelia. Veronica is responsible for the marketing strategy and organic formulation of the products.
Veronica had been using the cosmetic products for nine years, under the original name of Regant. The CEO of Regant was a client of hers at the music festival, and she discussed partnering with him to produce her own brand. She changed the formulation to include the natural and organic oils and ingredients and thus Avenka Cosmetics was born.
Veronica is also heavily involved in Orchestra and Choirs of Transformation Miguel Bernal Jimenez, an association which was formed in 2013 in honor of her grandfather who died at age 46 and was a great musician and composer. The association, through sponsorship, provides free music classes, Monday through Friday, and musical instruments to vulnerable children and youth, ages 4 through 21, in an effort to keep them off the street and drug-free. The organization works closely with their parent, as the students come from troubled homes with many problems. So far, they have helped 175 students who are selected through an application process. Applicants who show some ability to learn an instrument or sing are enrolled, but if an applicant has another inclination, for example sports, they are referred to other organization that may be able to help the child.
She has spoken publicly in the past when she was producing the music festivals on a monthly bases. Topics included Sponsorship, How to Make a Festival, Vision, Involvement of the Embassy, Better Performing Arts, Getting the Public and Community Involved, and How Culture Helps Society both Socially and Economically. Audiences for her talks have ranged from 50 to 500 people. Her prior experience includes 13 years as CEO with Music Athletic Festival, known for their classical music events (www.festivalmorelia.mx). She has written many articles about social problems, initiatives that can help society, how the government can help, vs. sponsorship, performing arts in Latin America, and how culture affects society.
