About me / professional summary
Sales and Marketing Leader, Sales and Growth Enablement, GTM and Strategy Chief from a lens that spans all verticals, technologies and company sizes to shape competitive advantage. For the last five years I have been a builder elevating my qualifications and techniques arriving where I thrive. Following eight years at Windstream, the next career chapter unfolded differently. Some of it was intentional; some was life. A planned career break coincided with a son’s medical emergency when a chance encounter became a Fractional CSO engagement and a hospital room served as the office. Recruited next as a transformative leader for a regional provider after a career exclusively with global and national companies, delivered results well beyond expectations and earned a FirstLight Senior Leader as an executive professional reference.

- I am looking to connect with…
- Leaders for mentorship as I embark on my next career chapter. The market is saturated, but at this stage of my career I am being selective. I want to join a company that welcomes fresh ideas and appreciates contributions and healthy debate. I would also like to connect with women who work for companies like this where a role may exist for my skills.

Biography
A career shaped as much by opportunity as by intention began with a degree in Education, a “country girl moves to the big city” story, one temp agency, and a first “real job.” Transformation started then and has defined the journey from Central PA to Washington, DC, NOVA and MD, Boston, MA, and Newport, RI. Career decisions, much like the places chosen to live, have not followed a series of matching experiences by design. The roles, solutions, and methods have varied; the consistently strong outcomes and sustained performance have not. Each choice catalyzed a distinct, multifaceted perspective that creates strategies others chase but cannot catch. Experience missing from a job description has repeatedly become the exact proof of value defining success. Succeeded as a Fractional CSO, built a consulting firm, and introduced new verticals and products to market. Designed process improvement and force multiplier programs. Worked across all segments and verticals reinventing traditional methods into differentiating practices as a habit. Transactional generalists become advisory strategists. Business-conversation-first client engagements precede product. Forecasting accuracy is a constant. Client AI-enabled automation, workflows, and applications are explored with insights. SaaS platforms are demonstrated with known competitive and financial intelligence. IT/OT cybersecurity platforms, insurance, and compliance lead discovery. A fragmented view is replaced by complete client technology ecosystem knowledge. Customer and Partner Advisory Boards influence strategy and event planning. Business development practices are omnichannel and A/B tested with horizontal and targeted ABM. Churn is reduced through customer success and retention program innovation. AI automation, workflows, and SaaS applications are chosen and operationalized to maximize outcomes. Customer journey storytelling drives partner training, sales enablement, and marketing content. Progress is celebrated as much as victories. People feel more capable today than yesterday in a culture where all voices are heard. Events are unforgettable and deliver guaranteed ROI. Customers are introduced to futures they have not considered. Financial, competitive, and marketing analyses serve as the data compass. Cross-functional collaboration is standard business practice. Untraditional partners, MSPs, OEMs, and VARs fuel revenue engines. The value delivered is the ability to execute and influence company vision while amplifying leadership, strengthening the broader team, and advancing the customer experience. Different customers. Different partners. Different business models. Different boardroom conversations. Different experiences. Different viewpoint. A former leader once offered a humbling, career-defining compliment: “Tara Sheridan, you see twenty-seven chess moves ahead while everyone else is focused on only the next one or two.” That mindset has shaped every team built, market entered, program launched, event planned, and strategy designed. Success is found in the unconventional, and it works. A career launched with “the art of the possible” as its guide continues with that principle as a steadfast companion. Innovative strategy, with technology riding shotgun to talent (the real competitive advantage) is the formula for success. Innovation and change are transformed into something meaningful. And when it is all said and done…Every team, company, and client is left better than before.
