Biography
Sharon Herbert is a Certified Life Coach at Primrose Life Coaching in Richmond, California, specializing in supporting clients whose loved ones are affected by alcoholism, addiction, or substance abuse. Sharon established her practice to help women move forward through personal and professional challenges, drawing on her own experience of rebuilding her life and pursuing financial independence. Before becoming a life coach, Sharon spent more than two decades designing and leading global clinical trials to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of medical products across a range of diseases. Her most recent corporate role was Director of Clinical Operations at a large multinational medical device manufacturing company. Her background combines scientific training, business education, and experience leading complex clinical research. Sharon holds a bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from the University of the Western Cape in South Africa, a PhD in Molecular Genetics from Imperial College School of Medicine in London, and a Master of Business Administration from the Graduate School of Business at the University of Cape Town in South Africa. Her transition into coaching was shaped by leaving a 14-year marriage to a partner affected by alcoholism and addiction. While raising her then 13-year-old son, she rebuilt her life, developed her personal finance skills, navigated toxic behavior, and worked toward financial independence. Those experiences informed her decision to offer the kind of support she had needed during her own challenges. Sharon takes a holistic approach to coaching, recognizing that difficulties in one area of life can affect others. Alongside support for those navigating a loved one’s addiction, her practice addresses money management, career decisions, divorce, single parenting, toxic relationships, life purpose, personal development, and spirituality. She draws on lived experience to tailor her approach with empathy and to create a supportive environment in which clients can explore their circumstances and identify ways forward.
