Biography

I am a healthcare professional, educator, and community advocate with a passion for helping people and creating a positive change through service. My career in ophthalmology, first as an ophthalmic technician, followed by clinical manager, clinical training manager, medical interpreter specializing in ophthalmology, compliance and analytics has provided me with a unique blend of experience to bridge healthcare related cultural gaps within my profession and strengthen faith based communities. As a bilingual professional, I am passionate about serving and advocating for Limited English Proficient (LEP) individuals and families, working towards breaking down language barriers to help improve patient outcomes. I enjoy supporting my parish community through bilingual catechism instruction and by providing interpretation and translation for priests and parish ministries when needed. This allows me to help bridge language barriers while fostering understanding, inclusion, and spiritual growth. My commitment to advocacy also extends to health and safety within faith communities. I am currently working towards Basic Life Support (BLS) training initiatives for Catholic parish members who work with children and adults in ministry programs, helping equip volunteers and leaders with the knowledge and confidence to respond during medical emergencies. I believe that education and preparedness are essential components of caring for and protecting our communities. I am guided by a belief that leadership is rooted in service, lifelong learning, and a commitment to making a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
