Kary Miller

Biography

Kary Miller is the Owner of Human Edge Advisory Inc and a Human Capital Management and Workforce Management consultant specializing in UKG implementations, optimization, payroll, scheduling, timekeeping, and workforce operations, particularly within healthcare organizations. Kary began her healthcare career in 1994 and gained operational experience in roles spanning switchboard services, patient registration, ward administration, staffing, and payroll. She later managed the Staffing team at Georgian Bay General Hospital, where she was directly involved in implementing UKG. Her responsibilities covered the project lifecycle, including business structure, system configuration, testing, training, and rollout. Her hands-on knowledge of staffing and payroll operations informed the design and optimization of the system for its day-to-day users. Through Human Edge Advisory, Kary helps organizations simplify workforce-management challenges and align technology with operational needs. She completed a full UKG rebuild for Temiskaming Hospital, restructuring the solution from its foundational business framework through daily workflows. The engagement included improvements to scheduling and timekeeping, access and configuration alignment, testing, training, migration, and go-live support. Kary has also supported Cambridge Memorial Hospital in optimizing its UKG environment. This work included using Schedule Tags to improve automation and establishing processes for historical corrections. Across her consulting work, she draws on more than 25 years of experience and an accounting and payroll background to help teams use workforce technology more effectively while maintaining a practical focus on the people and processes behind each system.
