Biography
I'm Delia Paredes Mier, a macroeconomist and strategic advisor with over two decades of experience across government, banking, and advisory. I specialize in macroeconomic risk and public policy, and in what they mean for business decisions, helping organizations navigate uncertainty driven by global financial conditions, regulatory shifts, and geopolitical dynamics, with a focus on Mexico and North America. My career began in the public sector, with senior roles at Mexico's Ministry of Finance and PEMEX, where I worked on financing strategies and large-scale investment projects. I then moved into economic analysis, holding leadership positions at Santander and Banorte. As Head of Economic Research at Banorte, I built and positioned one of the country's leading economic analysis teams, producing insights used by investors, corporates, and policymakers. As Partner at TransEconomics, I advised high-net-worth clients and institutions on macroeconomic trends, investment strategy, and risk, with emphasis on global monetary conditions, nearshoring, and Mexico's evolving policy environment. Today I am an independent advisor to executive-level clients and a frequent speaker and media contributor. I publish regularly in outlets such as Arena Pública and the IMEF magazine, and I take part in economic policy discussions through the IMEF Economic Studies Committee, the IMEF Indicator Committee, and the Mexican Council on Foreign Relations (COMEXI). I also teach economics and financial markets at Universidad Anáhuac, and I serve on advisory boards, including the Anáhuac Graduate School of Business. I am committed to bringing rigorous, practical economic thinking to boardrooms. My expertise in macroeconomic risk, public policy, financial strategy, and regulatory environments supports audit, risk, and strategy committees in assessing external risks and allocating capital under uncertainty. I am actively interested in board opportunities where this perspective adds value. I joined the Association to build meaningful connections, share my experience, and both mentor and learn from women who are shaping their industries. I look forward to exchanging ideas, opening doors for others, and contributing my voice on the economic issues that matter to our members. I hold an MSc in Global Market Economics from the London School of Economics, and graduate and undergraduate degrees in Economics from Universidad Anáhuac.
