I have been married for 23 years to a US Navy Special Forces Veteran who is now 100% permanently medically disabled. We have a 23 year old son who is a diesel mechanic with a certification in diesel advanced technical education for Volvo and Mack and an 18 year old daughter who just finished her 1st year of college and is an administrative assistant for the director of Orthopaedics at a level 1 trauma center. We also have 2 English Bulldogs.
I have always had a love for the medical profession but found my passion with Orthopaedic surgery/trauma. I am always striving for improvements in my skill sets and looking for ways to improve not only myself but the department I work for and the patients that I serve. I am currently the APP council representative for our Orthopaedic department at a level 1 trauma center and love being able to help develop new initiative that will better our organization. I have recently started to engage with some research projects in our department for osteoporosis and hope to begin a new clinical trial for wound care as well.
