Biography

Ayda Shahidi is a clinical research and operations leader with a passion for advancing vision care through scientific innovation, collaboration, and meaningful patient outcomes. As Director of Global Vision Care Clinical Operations at Bausch + Lomb, she leads global clinical research initiatives, working across multidisciplinary teams to translate innovative technologies into evidence-based solutions that improve eye health and quality of life. With a background in optometry and extensive experience in clinical research, Ayda brings together scientific rigor, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of the needs of eye care professionals and patients. Her work spans the development and execution of clinical studies, including research in contact lenses, myopia management, and emerging vision care technologies. She is particularly interested in building strong partnerships with investigators, fostering clinical excellence, and ensuring that research generates meaningful insights for both practitioners and the people they serve. Beyond her professional responsibilities, Ayda is passionate about leadership development, mentorship, and empowering women to pursue ambitious careers while remaining authentic to their values. She believes in the importance of creating opportunities for others, learning from diverse perspectives, and building supportive professional communities. Her Iranian heritage and international experience have shaped her appreciation for cultural connection, resilience, and the value of bringing different perspectives together.
