Biography

Lora Jane Simpson is the Chief Executive Officer of Simpson Advocacy and Consulting Services, where she focuses on special education advocacy, disability rights consulting, and special education policy reform. Her work centers on helping families navigate complex education systems while advocating for accountability, transparency, and the protection of the civil and educational rights of children with disabilities. Simpson’s advocacy emphasizes strengthening families, empowering parents to participate meaningfully in their child’s education, and advancing systemic improvements within special education policies and practices. Through Simpson Advocacy and Consulting Services, she provides consultation, case review, and advocacy support for families addressing issues such as Child Find violations, failure to evaluate, denial of a Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE), discrimination, retaliation for protected advocacy, and other violations under federal disability laws including IDEA, Section 504, and the ADA. In addition to her consulting work, Simpson leads two nonprofit organizations dedicated to supporting individuals and families in crisis. Love Doesn’t Hurt focuses on domestic violence victims advocacy, while Love Doesn’t Fail provides community outreach and resources for families facing hardship, including those displaced by emergencies and those needing access to food, clothing, shelter, and supportive services such as counseling. Beyond advocacy, Simpson is also an author, music producer, and freelance writer who has received recognition and publication for her work. She lives on a farm where she raises animals and enjoys spending time with her family.
