Leila Sahebjamee on Building Intelligent Products and Empowering Teams
Microsoft Product Manager Lead Leila Sahebjamee discusses her work across AI, enterprise platforms, and digital transformation—and why collaboration and opportunities for women in technology remain central to her leadership.
For Leila Sahebjamee, product leadership begins with a practical question: How can complex technology be turned into something useful, scalable, and capable of improving a real customer experience? Across more than 15 years in technology and product leadership, that question has guided her work in artificial intelligence, enterprise platforms, digital transformation, and product strategy.
Now a Product Manager Lead at Microsoft, Leila leads large-scale enterprise initiatives involving intelligent platforms, automation, and data-driven solutions. Her responsibilities span defining product vision, guiding innovation, and bringing cross-functional teams together around measurable business outcomes. It is work that requires both a command of emerging technology and an understanding of how people, processes, and customer needs intersect.
Connecting technology to customer context
One recent focus at Microsoft has been Know Me, an enterprise customer-context platform designed to connect customer information across multiple support experiences. Leila led its development and launch, with the goal of helping support systems use customer context more effectively. According to her submitted account, the initiative improved efficiency and reduced misrouting by 6%.
The project reflects a recurring theme in her career: enterprise technology creates value when it makes complicated interactions more coherent. Connecting information across support experiences is not simply a matter of gathering data. It also calls for product decisions about how that information should be organized, applied, and presented so teams can respond appropriately.
That emphasis on practical outcomes shapes Leila’s approach to product strategy. Rather than treating innovation as an end in itself, she focuses on building products that address identifiable problems. Product vision, in this context, must be translated into priorities that cross-functional partners can act upon and into solutions that work at enterprise scale.
Leading amid rapid AI change
Generative AI and AI agents are central to Leila’s current professional interests. She sees these technologies as changing how teams build products and approach real-world problems. Their emergence also expands the product leader’s role: technical possibilities must be considered alongside user needs, organizational objectives, and the realities of implementation.
Leila’s background provides experience across several parts of that challenge. Before joining Microsoft, she held a leadership role at Compliance.ai, where she led initiatives involving AI-powered regulatory intelligence and API platforms. The work focused on helping organizations navigate complex regulatory requirements, an environment in which information, workflows, and enterprise systems must operate together.
Her experience across regulatory technology, customer experience, APIs, and enterprise platforms has informed a broad view of AI product leadership. Intelligent products do not operate in isolation. They depend on strategy, data, platform capabilities, business rules, and collaboration among people with different areas of expertise. For a product leader, aligning those elements is as important as recognizing the potential of a new technology.
Creating the conditions for teams to succeed
Leila holds a Master’s degree in Program Management in the field of Information Technology. That foundation complements a career centered on coordinating complex initiatives and helping teams move from ambitious ideas toward concrete products.
Her leadership priorities extend beyond roadmaps and platform decisions. She values authentic leadership, continuous learning, and meaningful collaboration, with an emphasis on empowering teams to innovate and succeed. In practice, that means creating clarity around a shared direction while making room for varied expertise and perspectives.
As a woman working in technology, Leila is also interested in encouraging more women to pursue leadership opportunities in AI and the broader technology sector. She views sharing experiences, building professional connections, and supporting others’ growth as meaningful parts of leadership—not activities separate from the work.
A focus on useful innovation
As AI capabilities continue to develop, Leila remains focused on the relationship between bold ideas and meaningful outcomes. Her career across enterprise technology and regulated industries demonstrates the importance of pairing experimentation with disciplined product strategy.
That perspective offers a grounded framework for navigating technological change. Start with the problem, understand the people affected, and build alignment across the teams responsible for delivery. For Leila, the promise of AI and enterprise platforms lies not only in what the technology can do, but in how thoughtfully it can be shaped into products that help customers, organizations, and teams move forward.
