Biography of Kim Kandola, CEO of Kandola Group Early Life and Education: Kim Kandola was born in 1976, in Surrey, BC, Canada, and moved to the UK at the age of one. Growing up in Scotland, in a family of entrepreneurs was exciting and challenging at the same time. The family was heavily involved in the retail business, and she started working at a young age in the family business. She pursued a degree in Business Management from Paisley University, graduating in 1996. Her passion to become an entrepreneur led her to study further in Human Resources and Accounting. Destiny took her back to Canada in 1998 when she married her husband who was living in Canada. Career Journey: Kim was essentially new to Canada and started working for an Insurance Company in Vancouver. She quickly realized that this was not her passion and needed to explore other opportunities which led her to purchase an Imperial Oil Franchise. Growth in this field was limited and she got her first break when she joined the Franchise group of Tim Hortons in 2008. Her dedication and leadership excelled her to open multiple locations across the lower mainland and expand to Vancouver Island and Northern BC. In 2022, she was recognized as a growing entrepreneur with a strategic vision and joined the family of Firehouse Subs to become a multi-unit operator in BC. Community Engagement: Believing in the importance of giving back, Kim has championed community engagement. Staying connected with local communities, engaging with the First Responders and providing funds through grants for essential lifesaving equipment to Hospitals, Police Dept and Fire Halls. Legacy: With the experience and expertise in multiple operations, Kim Kandola has not only shaped the trajectory of the Kandola Group but has also left an indelible mark on the restaurant industry. Her commitment to excellence, community engagement and spirit of growth has redefined what it means to be a successful leader. Kim continues to inspire future generations of restauranteurs, advocating for a more sustainable and inclusive future in the food industry.
