Joana Sousa

With a Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from Universidade Nova de Lisboa, an exponential Business Administration degree from NOVA School of Business and Economics and certification in Strategic Innovation from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Erasmus Rotterdam, she dedicated the beginning of her career to Research, later moving into the area of ​​R&D project management in the corporate world, thus having 13 years of experience in this role, both in large market players and start-ups. She is currently Innovation Manager at NOS Inovação, designing and implementing the innovation strategy. She is also an independent consultant for the European Commission for the evaluation of R&D projects, as well as for the Cyprus Research and Innovation Foundation. She is a member of the evaluation committee of the Innovation Poland-Switzerland program. More recently, she was selected as a mentor for small and medium-sized Portuguese companies, providing support in terms of innovation through a program launched by NOVA School of Business and Economics.
