Danielle Cognigni

Danielle joined NICHI in November 2023 after proudly serving at Ontario Aboriginal Housing Services for nearly 6 years. As a proud member of the senior leadership team, Danielle oversees the Operations team, Finance, IT, HR, Policy and the Communications departments. Danielle has an education in Business Administration and has over 19 years of experience in several industries from telecommunications, automotive, Real Estate and finally to the housing sector where she found her passion and purpose. Danielle self-identifies as Métis with her family roots in Manitoba. She is also Italian and is very proud of both backgrounds. She was born and raised in Sault Ste. Marie, ON which borders her daughter’s community of Batchewana First Nation. Danielle is a dedicated mother who also serves proudly on several committees and volunteers in community often. Danielle is honoured to be a part of a For Indigenous, By Indigenous organization where she can continue to do what she loves, while helping Indigenous people from coast to coast to coast.
