Daniela Cohen: Building Freedom to Thrive
Daniela Cohen’s Freedom to Thrive group coaching program offers purpose-driven women space to explore sustainable leadership, boundaries, shared responsibility and renewed trust in their own voice.
For women whose work is rooted in service, purpose can be both a source of energy and a source of strain. The work matters, the needs are real, and the pressure to keep showing up can become difficult to set aside. Daniela Cohen’s Freedom to Thrive is designed around a central question for women carrying significant responsibility: how can they continue to lead and serve without losing space for themselves?
Freedom to Thrive is a 10-week group coaching program for purpose-driven women who care deeply about their work but recognize that their current pace or patterns may not be sustainable. The program is intended especially for women working in nonprofit, healthcare, education and social services. It offers an opportunity to step back from day-to-day demands and consider a more sustainable way of working and leading.
As founder and executive director of Transformative Conversations, Cohen brings a professional focus that includes conflict transformation and Woman-Centered Coaching. Her profile describes experience facilitating programs intended to support equitable and inclusive communities in Canada and South Africa, as well as work involving conflict-positive organizations, youth engagement and inclusive leadership. She also identifies executive coaching, life coaching, facilitation, conflict resolution, equity, diversity and inclusion, and writing among her areas of practice.
The program’s name speaks to the possibility of creating room for both meaningful work and personal wellbeing. Rather than framing women’s commitment to their communities as something to abandon, Freedom to Thrive invites participants to examine how they hold that commitment. The program focuses on practical and reflective themes that can shape the experience of leadership: sharing responsibility, setting boundaries without guilt, trusting one’s own voice and making space for oneself again.
Weekly coaching sessions provide a regular structure for that exploration. Guided reflection gives participants time to notice the assumptions, habits and internal pressures that can make it challenging to pause or ask for support. A small group format also creates an opportunity for women to learn alongside others who may understand the particular demands of purpose-driven work. The cohort is limited to 10 women, keeping the setting intentionally small.
For participants, the emphasis is not simply on doing more efficiently. The program is centered on building a relationship to work and leadership that can be sustained over time. That may include considering where responsibility can be shared, where clearer boundaries are needed and where a participant’s own perspective deserves more room. These are questions that can be especially relevant for women whose roles require care, coordination, advocacy or leadership on behalf of others.
Cohen’s work is informed by an interest in building communities where people can thrive. Her professional profile describes a mission to help bridge divides and support communities through inclusive approaches and transformational coaching. In Freedom to Thrive, that wider orientation is brought into a focused group setting for women who want to reconnect with their own capacity, direction and voice while continuing to engage with work that matters to them.
The next Freedom to Thrive cohort is scheduled to run from September 25 through November 27. Sessions will take place on Fridays from 12:00 to 1:30 p.m. PT via Zoom. Across the 10-week program, participants will have recurring time reserved for coaching, reflection and connection with the group.
For purpose-driven women, sustainability can be more than a personal aspiration. It can shape how leadership is practiced, how teams are supported and how long people are able to remain connected to the causes they care about. Freedom to Thrive offers a dedicated space to explore that sustainability with others, while developing approaches to responsibility and boundaries that better honor both the work and the person doing it.
