Carine Wittwer is the Founder and Director of Art Bond Agency, a boutique fine arts agency dedicated to supporting emerging artists and enabling them to pursue projects unencumbered to their artistic visions and voices. Having identified many parallels between how artists and executives direct their work, Carine decided apply artistic principles and practices to business endeavors. Established on a model that encourages the corporate, public and private sectors to increase involvement in the culture of arts appreciation, Art Bond helps unseen artists to reach their audience.

Establishing Art Bond was the direct result of Carine’s experience and her interest in art and its ability to impact and affect people on the individual and societal levels. She was always fascinated by art, and is passionate about developing new artists and helping them find their voice and a platform upon which to present their work. With over 16 years of experience in the hotel industry, Carine is driven by the desire to introduce artists to the corporate world. She travels internationally, and focuses on the work of African art and artists, including from South Africa, Tanzania, Ghana, Kenya and Mozambique. She is especially known for her work representing street artists and contemporary artists, and for her marketing and communications skills.

In 1998, Carine received a Diploma in Hotel Business from the Ecole Hoteliere de Geneve. With a natural talent for project management and communications, she quickly established herself in the hospitality and hotel management sector, and relocated to the Serengeti National Park of Tanzania as General Manager of the Bilila Lodge Kempinski, part of the Kempinski Hotels group. Her time in the corporate and hotel sector helped demonstrate to Carine the impact that art can have in the corporate world, and she realized there was a true niche in helping corporations find artists whose works can augment not just their internal spaces, but their organizational missions. She notes that “[s]ince all great art pushes boundaries beyond established norms, it can teach us about leadership, empathy, ambiguity, change, courage and creativity.”

Initially from Switzerland, Carine speaks fluent English and French. Looking ahead, she plans to continue growing the Art Bond Agency, fostering exciting new artists and giving them a voice. A true optimist, she credits her success to keeping an open mind, having kindness and putting in the hard work needed to establish a thriving business.
