Betty Ann Pilgrim: National Nursing Leader Now Championing Menopause Advocacy
Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago – Betty‑Ann Pilgrim, former Chief Nursing Officer and National Nursing Advisor for Trinidad & Tobago, continues to inspire with a new chapter in her storied career—now serving as a designated Menopause Champion while maintaining her legacy of healthcare excellence.
With over 25 years of international nursing leadership, Mrs. Pilgrim has been a noted catalyst for transformative healthcare strategy and policy development. As Chief Nursing Officer and a board member of the Nursing Council of Trinidad & Tobago, she provided visionary leadership to more than 1,000 nursing professionals in both clinical and educational roles across the nation. Her prior contributions include serving as a matron of several major hospitals and as a university-based clinical instructor, helping to shape the next generation of healthcare professionals #12minconvos with Engel JonesObservatorio RH.
Her early accomplishments include receiving a Global Nursing Leadership Training Scholarship from the International Council of Nurses in Geneva (2011), being nominated Manager of the Year for nursing leadership innovation by the SW Regional Health Authority of T&T (2014), and earning a National Quality Award nomination (2015).
Now, adding to her distinction, Ms. Pilgrim is a Licensed Menopause Champion through MEG-UK (2024), and is transforming women’s health through advocacy and education in the USA, and the Caribbean, among others. Her recent work includes co-authoring Waiting in the Pit (2023), and founding inspiring wellness initiatives such as The Prayer Station and Girl on Fire Series (2023-2025). She has also been featured twice on the #12minconvos Podcast (2022-2025), discussing her evolution from nursing leadership to holistic wellness and menopause care #12minconvos with Engel Jones.
In 2024, she added to her credentials by qualifying as a Loctician & Natural Hair Stylist—demonstrating her commitment to embracing diverse facets of wellness.
