The Worldwide Women’s Association Recognizes Christy Lynn Greene

Christy Lynn Greene is a freelance master silk painter whose work explores the natural world through silk painting, botanical impressions, and eco-printing processes. Her artistic journey and connection to nature are featured in the August issue of Big Sky Journal in an article titled “Local Knowledge: Wandering and Wonder.” The feature introduces a wider audience to the ideas and practices shaping her current work.

At the center of Christy Lynn’s practice is Nature Revealed, a collection that combines painted silk with impressions made from leaves and other botanical materials. By bringing those natural elements directly into the creative process, she allows plant forms and textures to contribute to each composition rather than serving only as subjects to be depicted.

This approach reflects Christy Lynn’s interest in close observation and in the relationships connecting living things. Her work encourages viewers to pause and notice details that can be overlooked in everyday life. As she explains, “My hope is to invite people to slow down, look closer, and rediscover the beauty and interconnectedness of the living world.”

Christy Lynn’s process brings together intentional painting and the impressions produced through contact with botanical materials. Her current collection includes eco-printed silk paintings, extending her exploration of how nature can function as both inspiration and active participant. The resulting work is grounded in the forms, patterns, and visual complexity found in the living environment.

Submitted process imagery also provides a view of the scale and detail involved in her studio practice. One image shows pigment being applied with a small brush to a large floral composition featuring orange and purple petals against a dark background. The silk or fabric is stretched across a pipe frame, giving Christy Lynn space to develop expansive imagery while working carefully across the surface.

Another submitted studio image features a large forest composition stretched on a similar frame. A bear, fox, owls, and other animals appear within dense foliage, integrating wildlife into a layered woodland setting. Brushes, paints, containers, and other supplies surrounding the work illustrate the hands-on process required to build these detailed scenes.

The Big Sky Journal feature represents an important opportunity for Christy Lynn to share both her artistic journey and the natural perspective behind her work. Her gratitude for the publication reflects the value she places on connecting audiences with the ideas embodied in Nature Revealed. She is also sharing the process behind her current eco-printed silk collection through video, offering another way to understand how the works take shape.

Looking ahead, Christy Lynn remains focused on inviting deeper attention to the natural world through her silk paintings. Her guiding message—look closer, because beauty is everywhere—captures the sense of wonder at the heart of her practice and her intention to help viewers recognize connections within the living world.

WWA members are invited to connect with Christy Lynn Greene to learn more about her silk painting practice, botanical process, and Nature Revealed collection.
