Humera Iqbal: Building Practical AI Solutions for Small Businesses
Humera Iqbal gives small business owners their hours back. As Founder of HME Solutions Inc., she and her team build custom AI-powered tools that take over the manual admin work that quietly eats up 10 to 20 hours of a team’s week: typing the same information into two systems, uploading product catalogues by hand, chasing follow-ups, and juggling spreadsheets that were never meant to run a business.
Her clients are businesses that are too big for spreadsheets and too small for enterprise software. HME Solutions’ promise is simple: “Big-company tools, small-business prices.” Rather than asking owners to adapt to expensive, complicated platforms, Humera builds around the way each business already works, giving them the speed and polish of a large company’s systems without the enterprise price tag, long contracts, or steep learning curve.
It is a problem Humera knows first-hand. As a small business owner herself, she found enterprise solutions far too costly for what she needed, so she built her own. That experience led to ResumeMatch Pro, the AI product she founded and launched in June 2026, and then to HME Solutions, created to offer that same advantage to other business owners.
Today, HME Solutions is building custom systems for a healthcare services company, focused on staff scheduling, and a trucking permits operator, focused on permit management. Humera leads a growing global team of prompt engineers and marketing specialists who help bring each solution to life, serving businesses across Canada and beyond.
Humera brings more than 15 years of experience leading technology and quality teams, including as Senior QA Manager at TouchBistro. She is a PMP-certified project manager, holds a degree in Psychology and Astronomy from the University of Toronto, and has shared her expertise with students at Lambton College and Sheridan College.
Beyond her business, Humera is committed to supporting women entrepreneurs and her wider community. She is a member of the PARO Centre for Women’s Enterprise and serves as Circle Chair of its Nahdah Circle for women entrepreneurs. She hosts the podcast From Zakhm to Shifa, whose name means “from wound to healing,” volunteers with Distress Centres of Halton, and mentors with Jumpstart Refugee Talent.
