Paty Lopez is a bilingual retail and commercial strategy executive, entrepreneur, educator, speaker, and author with more than 20 years of experience spanning Category Management, Pricing, Assortment, Commercial Intelligence, Trade Marketing, and Supply Chain across Latin America’s leading retail and consumer packaged goods companies. Throughout her career, she has combined analytical expertise with strategic foresight to help organizations understand consumers, optimize commercial decisions, and drive sustainable business growth.
Currently, Paty serves as Solution Principal Team Lead, LATAM at RELEX Solutions, where she leads the presales team across the region for Space, Assortment, Pricing, Promotions, and Forecast & Replenishment. Her work focuses on helping retailers and CPG organizations leverage technology, data, artificial intelligence, and advanced planning capabilities to improve decision-making and operational performance. Her expertise in retail planning and category management has also led to speaking engagements throughout Latin America. RELEX has recognized her as an expert in Category Management with more than two decades of retail planning experience.
Before joining RELEX Solutions, Paty held senior commercial and category management roles with major organizations, including Procter & Gamble and Grupo Salinas–Elektra. During more than 12 years with Procter & Gamble, she developed expertise across Category Management, Key Account Management, and Trade Marketing, contributing to initiatives that received two Best Reapplication awards at the LATAM level. At Grupo Salinas–Elektra, she directed Commercial Intelligence and Category Management, overseeing catalog strategy across more than 1,200 stores and three business units while leading a team of 18 professionals.
An accomplished entrepreneur, Paty founded CatmandooMX, a Category Management consulting company, and Shopper DNA, a market research firm, taking both ventures from concept through full operation. She has also served as Mexico representative for the Category Management Association and co-founded El CATMAN de hoy, an early Spanish-language platform dedicated to Category Management.
Paty is also a respected educator and industry speaker. She has served as an Executive MBA instructor at Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), teaching Corporate Finance and Commercial Strategy, and has spoken at industry events across Mexico, Peru, Ecuador, and Colombia. Her public engagements have included discussions on artificial intelligence, supply chain planning, retail transformation, and the future of commerce. In 2024, she moderated a panel on the impact of AI on supply chain at a #SoyLogístico event, where she also discussed the role of AI and machine learning in demand planning, forecasting, inventory optimization, and retail execution.
A lifelong advocate for continuous learning and future-oriented leadership, Paty holds an MBA in International Business from Texas A&M, a Master in Finance from Universidad Regiomontana, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from ITESM Campus Monterrey. She also completed postgraduate studies in Futures Studies and Strategic Foresight at CENTRO and holds advanced certificates from MIT in Digital Supply Chain and No Code AI and Machine Learning. Her multidisciplinary academic background reflects her belief that business leaders must combine financial discipline, technological fluency, consumer understanding, and strategic foresight to navigate an increasingly complex marketplace.
In 2026, Paty expanded her role as an author with the publication of Antes de que te Reemplacen: el plan para reinventarte en la era de IA (Before They Replace You: The Plan to Reinvent Yourself in the AI Era), a book focused primarily on the Latin American market.
