Muriel BARDOR

Muriel BARDOR is the founder, CEO and CSO of Alga Biologics, a french deeptech company that is producing recombinant proteins and peptides in a sustainable, safer and more affordable manner by using marine microalgae. Muriel is recognised as an expert in bioproduction for therapeutic antibody and recombinant proteins production, with specific international leadership in microalgae as cell biofactories. As a class exceptional academic professor, she was appointed as Junior member 2014 of the Institut Universitaire de France (IUF), thus reflecting the excellence of the research that she is developing (success rate below 1%). She is still honorary member of the IUF and served in 2020 and 2021 as a collaborator to the French Minister of Higher Education and Research as part of the IUF selection committee. She was also a member of the strategic and scientific committee for the “Grand Défi Biomédicaments” initiative and the French national Strategy of Bioproduction and Biotherapies (France 2030). She has led numerous European and national project calls (ANR, France 2030, H2020, Horizon Europe) as well as private collaborative contracts. Beyond the scientific content and project management, she acquired managerial and financial skills essential to the successful development of Alga Biologics while leading research groups or being deputy director of the GlycoMEV lab in France from 2018 to 2023. She also brought international experience, having worked for four years in UC San Diego, United States and in Singapore at the Bioprocessing Technology Institute (BTI). Now, fully dedicated to Alga Biologics development, she completed in 2024, a one-year program in Business, Marketing, Finances and entrepreneurship from EM Lyon Business School (top 10 of the European Business School). In 2025, she was laureate of the FWE40 (French Women Entrepreneurs 40) and from the Women TechEU cohort#3.
