Anila Hasko

Educator | Dental Professional | Wellness Advocate Originally from Durrës, Albania, I completed my Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Medicine, Faculty of Dentistry, in 1992. I practiced as a dentist for six years in Albania before immigrating to Canada in 1998. Driven by my lifelong passion for oral health, I continued my journey in the dental field by enrolling in the Dental Hygiene program at John Abbott College in 1999. During my studies, I was frequently recognized on the Dean’s Honour Roll, and I graduated in 2002. Following graduation, I worked in private practice as a dental hygienist for six years. During that time, I began teaching part-time at John Abbott College, where I later became a full-time faculty member. Over the years, I have had the privilege of teaching a wide range of subjects including Pharmacology, Radiology, Restorative Dentistry, Clinical Practice, and Preventive Care. Teaching is one of my greatest passions — I take pride in sharing my knowledge and experience to inspire and guide the next generation of dental professionals. In 2018, while teaching full-time at John Abbott College, I proudly completed a Master's Degree In Higher Education- an important personal and professional milestone that deepened my commitment to excellence in teaching and learning. In 2021, I expanded my scope of practice by joining an independent dental hygiene clinic part-time, embracing the opportunities that the Canadian system offers for dental hygienists to operate independently. That same year, I also became an independent consultant with Arbonne, a health and wellness company focused on botanically based, clean products. My interest in holistic health — linking oral, systemic, and mental wellness — naturally aligned with Arbonne’s philosophy. I am deeply committed to promoting total wellness — believing that a healthy mouth, a healthy body, and a healthy mind are all interconnected.
