Member story

Biography

I graduated from Pender High School in 1997 and subsequently pursued higher education at Miller-Motte Business College, where I obtained an Associate's degree in Accounting. Following my graduation, I commenced my professional career at FNB Southeast, where I was employed for two years. I then opted to align my career with my field of study and joined Creative Flooring Concepts, Inc., where I contributed for four years until I took maternity leave to welcome my oldest child. After the birth of my eldest child, I made the decision to become a stay-at-home mother for the subsequent 16 years. During this period, I welcomed two additional children, a son and another daughter. As my children grew older, I resolved in 2015 to pursue further education in religious studies. Consequently, I enrolled at Liberty University Online, where I completed my degree in Religion: Biblical and Theological Studies in May 2020, coinciding with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. In light of the pandemic, I opted to homeschool my three children for the subsequent academic year rather than enrolling them in public school. As my children gradually expressed a desire to return to traditional schooling over the following years, I recognized a decrease in my necessity at home. This allowed me to reenter the workforce. I was employed by FSNB in October 2022, serving in various capacities over my two and a half years there. I progressed from teller to supervisor and ultimately to branch manager. After reaching a plateau in my professional development at FSNB and in pursuit of a more favorable work-life balance, I elected to explore new employment opportunities. Recently, I accepted a position with SouthState Bank, where I am currently employed. Regrettably, on my second day of work, I was involved in a car accident, which resulted in injuries including broken toes and ribs. I am presently recovering but plan to continue my training for my new position at SouthState Bank as soon as possible. I look forward to a promising future in my career.
