Biography
I am a passionate advocate for gender equality and climate action. As the Founder and President of the Seriana Foundation, the CEO of The Kenyatta Trust, and the East Africa Director for MIPAD (Most Influential People of African Descent), I am dedicated to driving social justice and sustainable development. My work has earned national and international recognition, reflecting my commitment to creating a better world for women and marginalized communities. Passion for Gender Equality: My journey into activism began with a deep-seated belief in the power of women to effect change. Growing up in a community where gender disparities were prevalent, I witnessed firsthand the challenges faced by women and girls. This experience ignited my passion for gender equality. Through my leadership at the Seriana Foundation, I have implemented initiatives aimed at combating gender-based violence, promoting women’s rights, and fostering economic empowerment. I have spearheaded programs that provide vocational training for women, equipping them with the skills necessary to achieve financial independence. Additionally, I have organized awareness campaigns addressing gender-based violence, educating communities about the importance of consent, respect, and equality. My approach focuses on creating safe spaces for dialogue and engagement, empowering women to share their stories and advocate for their rights. Climate Action Advocate: In addition to my work in gender equality, I am a passionate advocate for climate action. I recognize the disproportionate impact of climate change on women, especially in vulnerable communities. This understanding drives me to integrate environmental sustainability into my advocacy efforts. I believe that addressing climate change is not just an environmental issue; it is fundamentally a matter of social justice. Through my leadership roles, I have championed initiatives that promote sustainable practices and educate communities on the importance of environmental stewardship. I have organized tree-planting campaigns and facilitated workshops on sustainable agriculture, advocating for policies that prioritize climate resilience. By linking gender and climate issues, I strive to create holistic solutions that uplift women while addressing environmental challenges. National and International Honors: My impactful work has garnered numerous accolades. Nationally, I have been recognized by various organizations for my efforts in promoting gender equality and climate action. Internationally, I am proud to be recognized among the Most Influential People of African Descent, which reflects my commitment to uplifting marginalized voices and creating a global impact. These honors serve as a reminder of the importance of my work and motivate me to continue pushing forward, knowing that my efforts contribute to a larger movement for change. Solutions for Society: My approach to social change is rooted in collaboration and innovation. I understand that sustainable solutions require the input and engagement of the communities they aim to serve. Here are some key solutions I have offered: 1. Empowerment Through Education: I believe education is a powerful tool for transformation. Through tThe Kenyatta Trust, I have developed scholarship programs that provide young women access to quality education. By investing in their futures, I empower them to break the cycle of poverty and become leaders in their communities. 2. Community Engagement: Recognizing the importance of grassroots involvement, I have fostered partnerships with local organizations and community leaders. These collaborations ensure that initiatives are culturally relevant and effectively address the unique challenges faced by women in different contexts. 3. Advocacy for Policy Change: I actively engage in advocacy efforts to influence policy at local, national, and international levels. By participating in forums and conferences, I amplify the voices of women and marginali
