Dr. Xiping H. Rouben - Owner, RXP Studio Dr. Xiping H. Rouben’s journey from pharmaceutical research to the world of art has been fueled by an unwavering fascination with the beauty and complexity of cells and tissues viewed under a microscope. These breathtaking, vivid images—brimming with color and intricate patterns—served as the foundation for a lifelong dream: to transform these scientific wonders into captivating art. Dr. Rouben's work draws inspiration from iconic artists such as Jackson Pollock, Wassily Kandinsky, and Robert Motherwell, as well as from the mentorship of Canadian artist Mr. JenZ Shifu. Mr. Shifu’s unique non-representational art form, known as “Iconcography,” blends Chinese calligraphy, modern Western painting, and collage techniques, creating a distinctive artistic language. This fusion of diverse traditions has profoundly influenced Dr. Rouben’s creative expression. Additionally, Dr. Rouben has had the privilege of learning from Ms. Suzanne Metz, an established abstract artist in Canada, further refining her approach to art, which seamlessly bridges the world of science and artistic abstraction.
