Biography

Ieesha began her career at OneLegacy, the organ procurement organization in Los Angeles, California, starting as a hospital services coordinator and later becoming an in-house coordinator at one of the city's largest trauma centers. In 2010, she joined Infinite Legacy as a hospital services coordinator and transitioned to the community outreach department in 2014. By 2021, Ieesha had become the director of community outreach, working to increase awareness of organ, eye, and tissue donation throughout Maryland. She is the founder of Infinite Legacy's "The Decision Project," a grassroots initiative empowering socially disadvantaged communities affected by donation and transplantation to make educated and inspired decisions about donation. Ieesha is an active member of several organizations, including the American Public Health Association and The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. She serves as the Health Chair for the Maryland State Conference and also as the Health Co-Chair for the Howard County Branch. Additionally, Ieesha volunteers for the Maryland Medical Reserve Corps and serves as a Subject Matter Expert for the Association of Organ Procurement Organizations (AOPO) Impact committee. She is also a DEI committee member at AOPO and formerly served as Chair of the Public Education and Public Relations Council. Currently, Ieesha is an Expert Panelist for The Division of Transplantation (DoT) within the Department of Health and Human Services Donation Education and Outreach Team. She is a member of the Advisory Council of Donate Life America and serves as the President of the Association of Multicultural Affairs in Transplantation. Ieesha holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies from California State University, Long Beach, and a Master of Science in Leadership and Management from the University of La Verne. She is the recipient of the 2022 Leaders in Health Care Award, the 2023 Trey Schwab Coaching Legacy Award, and the 2023 Junior League of Baltimore Distinguished Women of the Year Award.
