Biography

Hollie has been in the community college system since 2007. Previously, she taught middle school and high school in the K-12 system. She currently serves as Associate Vice President for Student Affairs at Metropolitan Community College in Omaha, Nebraska. In this role, she oversees numerous projects and staff including proactive student case management, student retention and completion, Executive Directors, Success Navigators, Academic Advisors, and Registrar’s Office. She co-led the College's Guided Pathways project "Path Forward" and served on several implementation efforts as a lead or sponsor. She is now co-leading the modernization Steering Committee which is focused on transitioning the College to a new technology platform. Hollie is committed to community college students and their success and is focused on creative initiatives to improve student completion data. She holds a PhD from Capella University in educational administration & leadership, a Master’s Degree from Drake University in Education, and a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Northern Iowa in Geography Education & Special Education. She has presented at numerous conferences including the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC), The League for Innovation for Community Colleges, and The National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development. She has also co-authored a textbook for the first-year student experience.
