Kathy Lerner

Kathy Lerner is the Founding Attorney of KL Law Firm P.C. Mrs. Lerner obtained her undergraduate education at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), graduating summa cum laude and earning her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science with a Women’s Studies minor. She became a member of the Golden Key International Honour Society due to her academic achievements at UCLA. ​Mrs. Lerner went on and graduated Pepperdine University School of Law in 2012, obtaining her Juris Doctorate as well as her Certificate in Dispute Resolution from the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution. During law school, Mrs. Lerner served as the Note and Comment Editor of the Journal of Business, Entrepreneurship and the Law and was a member of the Moot Court Board. ​Since her admission to the California State Bar, Mrs. Lerner has gained substantial experience in civil and commercial litigation, personal injury and employment law, including cases involving catastrophic loss, premises liability, negligence, intentional torts, fraud, contractual disputes, products liability, wrongful termination and retaliation, harassment and discrimination and a wide array of unfair business practice and competition matters. She has also obtained expertise in transactional affairs involving the negotiation and drafting of company formation contracts and lease agreements as well as confidentiality and non-disclosure contracts for corporate clients. ​Mrs. Lerner served over a decade representing clients on the defense side, including in criminal cases as well as insurance defense matters for numerous Fortune 500 companies. This experience has made Mrs. Lerner a legal professional known for her rigorous advocacy and insight into defense strategies and demands. Now, Mrs. Lerner has transitioned to championing justice for plaintiffs in personal injury and employment litigation matters. This transition demonstrates her commitment to standing up for individuals who have suffered injustices, bringing her extensive knowledge and skills to the pursuit of fairness and compensation for those in need.
