Michelle Hammond

Michelle Hammond has over 17 years of experience in financial services, retirement and regulatory compliance, including experience working as an Employee Benefits Investigator for the US Department of Labor. In her current role as Director of Retirement Plans Risk and Plan Services at Ameritas Life Insurance Corp., she oversees a team that provides annual non-discrimination testing and reporting services to employer sponsored plan clients to ensure compliance with the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (ERISA). She also has several other duties in this role, mitigating risk for the retirement plans department, process and control improvements, compliance review of marketing materials, complaint response, etc. Michelle is passionate about advocating for the best interest of employees and plan participants as well as employee engagement. She also enjoys research and investigation and never has a problem questioning the “way we’ve always done it.” Michelle credits her success to hard work, great mentorship and doing what’s right for others.
