Biography
Born in Guayaquil. Migrated to the United States at the age of 19, she has taught comparative literature and Spanish at Smith College & the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Has served as Consul General of Ecuador in Genoa, Italy (2009-2016), Senior Advisor to Ecuador's Minister of Foreign Affairs (2016), Vice Minister of Human Mobility at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2016). Since 2017, she has been an MP in Ecuador, serving as President & Vice President of the International Relations Committee, Ecuador's National Assembly (2017, 2018) and Member of Committee on Children's Rights (2021-2023). She also served as President of Ecuador National Group of Parliamentarians for Global Action and was member of the Executive Committee.
