Charlottetown, PEI – Nasim Fattahi, a licensed midwife with over two decades of hands-on experience, is pioneering maternal health innovation in Prince Edward Island through her newly launched center, Gentle Beginnings Maternal Services Inc. Drawing on more than 20 years of clinical and administrative expertise in high-risk maternity care, Nasim is transforming how maternal and newborn care is delivered with a focus on compassion, cultural sensitivity, and community-centered support.

Nasim began her professional journey in Tehran, Iran, where she led the Labor and Delivery and Women’s Emergency Unit at a Level-3 hospital. Her distinguished career includes receiving the Provincial Outstanding Midwife Award and the Midwifery Excellence Award from Tehran University of Medical Sciences. After immigrating to Canada, Nasim leveraged her expertise and entrepreneurial spirit to create Gentle Beginnings—PEI’s newest maternal wellness hub dedicated to empowering families during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum transitions.

Since launching Gentle Beginnings in 2024, Nasim has built a multidisciplinary team of certified doulas and lactation consultants, and she continues to grow collaborative partnerships across the Island’s healthcare ecosystem. She recently showcased her vision and services at the Mosaic BIPOC Business Expo 2025 and is an active member of the PEI Business Women’s Association (PEIBWA) and PEI’s Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) Entrepreneur stream.
