Dr. Twambo Nambao is a Medical Doctor for the Zambian Ministry of Health, where she treats patients, conducts research and handles administrative duties. She has nearly a decade of experience in her field and is passionate about maternal health and pediatrics. A distinguished contributor to the medical community, she is a member of the Zambia Medical Association, Resident Doctors Association of Zambia, and the Medical Women’s Association of Zambia
Twambo earned a bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Zambia, fromwhere she graduated in 2012. She also worked as a District Health Director in Chikankata district, overseeing 17 health facilities and supervising more than 300 staff. She is currently abroad, working toward completing a master’s degree in Global Health and Development at University College London.
Looking ahead, Twambo plans to return to Zambia upon completion of her master’s course, and to channel her energy toward ensuring policies are followed, research is done in her district, and to continue making an impact through community service, which she enjoys dearly.
